Across three sound families, the six music controls unlock 18 core sound-light responses, along with a mode-confirmation sound and a record-mode light indicator.

Record-and-replay sound pattern mode

When record mode is turned on, the Melody Explorer remembers the sequence of music controls the child presses. When record mode is turned off, the board replays the same pressed sound pattern.

This is not voice recording and it does not record external audio. It records only the child’s onboard sound-key pattern, making it safer, simpler, and more focused on music, memory, rhythm, sequencing, and creative play.

The Melody Explorer is recommended for children aged 5 years and above because the record-and-replay feature is more advanced than simple switch play. It encourages children to think in patterns, experiment with order, remember sequences, and create their own small musical combinations.

The board is made from premium birch wood and carefully hand-sanded to a smooth finish. Every child-facing surface, edge, and corner is checked to reduce roughness and splinter risk.

It is finished with Asian Paints WoodTech Aquadur PU, a water-based, low-VOC finish. The coating is EN 71-3 compliant for low toxic metal content, meeting the European standard for migration of elements such as lead, cadmium, chromium, and mercury from surface coatings.

The AA Duracell batteries sit behind a firmly screw-secured rear panel designed to prevent casual child access during play. Battery replacement should always be done by an adult.
